TOKYO, Dec 21, 2009 - Japanese stocks ended Monday at the highest level in almost eight weeks, lifted by a positive lead from Wall Street and upbeat domestic trade data, dealers said.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange's benchmark Nikkei-225 index gained 0.41 percent, or 41.42 points, to 10,183.47, the best finish since October 27. But the broader Topix index of all first-section shares slipped 2.11 points, or 0.24 percent, to 891.48.
