Tom Purves, Ex CEO of BMW North America, Will Take Over Management of Rolls Royace as Chief Executive Officer

One of the biggest names in luxury automobiles, Rolls Royce is all set to welcome its newest Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in the form of Tom Purves. Mr. Purves will be stepping down from the position of CEO of BMW North America and will take over the management of Rolls Royce. On the other hand, BMW will receive Torsten Müller-Ötvös as its CEO.

Tom Purves will not be a new face at Rolls Royce as he had previously worked with the company for the last 17 year and had undertaken a host of management responsibilities. Rolls Royce was the stepping stone for Mr. Purves’s career as he started off as an apprentice in the company and with hard work and steadfast dedication, climbed the ladder of success and achieved the pivotal point in his career, when he was appointed the CEO of BMW in the year 1999. Later, in the year 2008, Tom Purves again came back to Rolls Royce to help the company reach out globally and expand its products portfolio.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös on the other hand had worked with BMW for more than 20 years and excelled in marketing and brand management. Later on, he progressed to become the BMW global product manager in the year 2008 and now with the retirement of Tom Purves, Mr. Müller-Ötvös’ will head BMW as its Chief Executive Officer.
