Google Chrome giving tough time to Microsoft Internet Explorer by increasing browser market share

“Every rise has a downfall”, it’s an old saying but fits very much for recent victory of Google Chrome over Internet Explorer in terms of market share.

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8, which was considered as the undoubted king of browsing and once the holder of ‘world’s most-used browser’ tag, has lost its supremacy in browsing field to its toughest rival Google Chrome.

According to statistics and figures by StatCounter, a Web Analytic firm, Internet Explorer 8, after been trailed slightly by Google chrome in last week of November, has lost significant share of market until now.

The statistics shows that in last week of November, Internet Explorer 8 was capturing 23.5% of browser market share as compared to 23.6% of Google Chrome leaving a gap of just 0.1%; but the latest stats have shown that the gap has widened to 3% with browser market share of 22% and 25% for Internet Explorer 8 and Google Chrome respectively.

One Million Kinetic System Sold During Last 10 Days - - Will Help Extend the Reach of Its Xbox 360, Announce by Microsoft

Microsoft announced today that it has sold over one million systems to control video game Kinect within 10 days of initial product sales.

The device can play without the use of hands. The result confirms the possibility of hitting the target to sell five million of these handsets by the end of the year.

The world’s largest software expects the Kinect help revive sales of its Xbox game console, this holiday season, and that serves to counter the competing systems of control of movements offered by video games for Nintendo, with Wii, and Sony, which launched two months ago Move.

The Kinect hit stores in the U.S. on November 4, while many consumers had already made advance orders, which probably caused a jump in initial sales. Microsoft expects sales to remain warm in the day after the U.S. holiday of Thanksgiving – one of the biggest days of the year for shopping, known as “the black Friday” – which this year falls on November 26.

More than 30,000 shops are selling the Kinect in the U.S., including units of the chains Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy and GameStop. The unit is also for sale online at Amazon.com. In Europe, sales began on November 10 and should arrive in Asia on November 18.

The expectation is that Microsoft’s new technology will help extend the reach of its Xbox 360, which has sold 45 million units by introducing a concept that should be used in many electronics and computers in the coming years.
