There's No Need To Fill Your Garage With Your Product
One of the main things you don't have to automate or outsource right out of the gate is your product. This really only applies if you have an audio CD that you're shipping to your customers or if it's a DVD.
If you have one of these products you can have a fulfillment house actually process the orders for you, so you don't have to order 500 of them and ship them out yourself.
There's one facility called Kunaki and you can upload your mp3 or wav file to their server which will create the audio. Or you can upload a video file for your DVD product and then design your CD/DVD cover as well as the jewel case (what the cd is inside of).
Shipping the orders is extremely simple for the customers and they don't print or ship anything out until there's an order for it.
If you get hung up and don't have the creativity for the design of your jewel case and CD/DVD cover you can post it as a job on a few sites, see who gives you the best cover and pay them for it.
Unless You're Filling 50 Order Per Day Don't Hire A Call Center
There are a few ways for customers to contact you by phone that will enable you to differentiate your business from your regular phone, on way to do it is Skype and the other way to do it buying a cheap 1-800 or 1-888 number.
Skype is a way to connect on the internet through an instant messaging service and you can talk to customers through your customer to their phones. If you purchase a phone number from skype you can use that as your business phone number. It acts like a normal phone were customers can leave voicemail and it can be forwarded to your regular phone if you're out and about.
Your other option is simply buying a 1-800 or 1-888 number for your business, which also gives it that professional edge. You can have that 1-800 number forwarded to where ever you like, just Google "buy 1-800 number" to find a service that you like.
Your Business Website by A Professional Web Designer
Don't outsource this part of the process because you have a fear of HTML or website creators like Dreamweaver. It takes a long time to learn the skill set to build an effective website with those but there are ways around that problem.
You do, to some extent, want to focus on the things that create profit for you so taking the time to learn HTML might not be in your best interest.
To ease the pain and create an easy to manage website use a blogging platform like WordPress. People are obsessed with blogs for a couple reasons, but one of the biggest ones is the ease of using them.
Once you establish your WordPress blog/website (which starts out much more optimized for search engines than a website) you can learn to give it the feel of a website with all of the benefits of having a blog as well. This will save you a lot of money, time and frustration with hiring a professional web designer.
