Cell Phones Usage in U.S and Canada Graded as The Most Expensive

If you stay in the U.S.A or Canada, you have reasons to complain about the expensive telephone calls and text messages. While your friends from abroad chided you for being too picky about the cellphone caller plans, it has been found out that Canada has the most expensive cellphone plans in the world, and the U.S.A ranks the second.

The report comes from the New America Foundation’s Open Technology Initiative (OTI).The foundation conducted an extensive survey of the minimum cost for voice minutes, texting, and data. It was also found out that in countries where there were a number of companies and thus a lot of competition, the complete plans tended to be cheaper. Hong Kong and India have the cheapest complete plans in the whole of the world.

Indians pay $12.90 for a complete plan, and cellphone users in Hong Kong pay a $13.50. Users in Canada pay a terrible $67.50 and in the U.S., about $59.99. Denmark, Sweden, India, and Japan have the cheapest text rates, and Japan ranked the highest in data plans, at about $9.40 per MB. Indian users pay $0.0004 per MB, and Sweden, at $0.01 per MB.
