According to the Wall Street Journal report; Google, Facebook and many others are negotiating to takeover Twitter that give the Internet giant a value as high as $10 billion. Twitter allows users to broadcast 140-character messages to groups of followers and had 175 million users as of September last year.
Twitter, formed in 2006, is one of the popular Internet social networking services that includes Facebook, Zynga and LinkedIn.
The Wall Street Journal described on its website that officials at Twitter have held "low level" talks with their counterparts at Facebook and Google in recent months about a likely takeover of Twitter.
Further WSJ reported the talks have resulted for nothing so far and that Google, Facebook and Twitter all refused to comment.
